Qualifications & Skills

    • Working toward a related degree such as Construction Management, Engineering, Agricultural Field of Study, etc.
    • Upperclassmen preferred, but not required
    • Problem Solving & Critical Thinking Skills
    • Interpersonal Skills
    • Task & Time Management Skills

Necessary Attributes

    • Align with Summit’s cultural values
    • Ability to consistently analyze & disseminate incomplete data & ambiguity & provide solutions
    • Ability to multi-task, handle competing priorities under pressure, & quickly study & react to complex issues
    • Possess judgment to appropriately escalate issues with a strong sense of urgency & initiative

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

    • Stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time
    • Talk or listen
    • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception & the ability to adjust focus
    • Spend time on the physical jobsite, in a construction trailer while exposed to high/cold temperatures, & loud noises

Responsibilities

    • Become a member of a design-build project team
    • Assist with procurement of materials & subcontractors
    • Write purchase orders & contracts
    • Visit jobsites & experience hands-on learning
    • Assist with various projects from preconstruction through execution
    • Gain exposure to various job opportunities from drafting through project management
